Adore

My favorite part of making photos of someone’s wedding day are the moments. Not the big moments in the front of the church, but the little seemingly insignificant moments that are happening in a dark hallway between a mother and her son. Or the intensity of cramming everyone in a small choir bathroom to fit the tiara on the bride’s head in just the right manner. It is catching the groom spinning his newly adorned ring. Scott and Stacey’s wedding day provided just those sort of moments.

The sign that hung above Scott’s head when Stacie walked down the aisle said ADORE. It was appropriate because that is how he looked at her, with adoration. Their wedding was simple and meaningful. Scott grew up overseas their day was laced with symbols from his childhood adventures. The wedding day is symbolic of the coming together of two families, watching that play out in seemingly insignificant ways that really set the tone for your life together. Capturing Scott give his mom a bracelet that his soon to be wife picked out. Seeing her proudly show it off. Catching Stacie’s mom as they say their final goodbyes for the day holding the hand of her new son-in-law, these are the moments that I hope Scott and Stacey hide in their hearts and remember when the days can be long and hard.
