The Joy of Grandchild is Measured in the Heart

When the Hempfing family reached out to ask about multi generation family portraits I immediately said yes. As soon as YES was out of my mouth I started counting ALL the littles that were under FIVE. I remembered my own life, three kids under four. I remembered all the parts that were hard, like when all three of them were screaming in the grocery store or just one ALL THREE of them deciding to make a run for it. I also recalled the best parts of parenting toddlers and preschoolers, watching them be wild and free in open spaces. The knowledge they absorb like a sponges. The way they explicitly trust.  The session provided ALL the good things I remembered about parenting people under FIVE and ZERO of the things that made me cringe.
